wash & go feat. miss jessie's multi cultural curls

It was just a few days ago I scrolled down my Instagram newsfeed to find Miss Jessie's featuring a new product, Multi Cultural Curls. So, obviously I went to Target the next day to pick it up, there was o n e left! [that's how I always determine if it's truly meant to be]. Right next to it was the Leave-In Condish, which I tried once and loved, so, I picked it up too.

check out the Miss Jessie's website for more products, tips, and the blog which is coming soon!
I don't know about you, but when I purchase new products of any sort, I h a v e to go home and try them out immediately~ I washed with Trader Joe's Nourish Spa Shampoo, and conditioned with the conditioner from the same line. If it wasn't for the suggestion of Mo from Mo Knows Hair, I probably would have not trusted a $3 shampoo from Trader Joe's. But let me tell you... I am s o glad I did! The shampoo, though it lathers, is rather light, it thoroughly cleans, but does not strip my hair. The Conditioner is not too heavy, not too light, smells a m a z i n g, and does its job. So, I shampooed & conditioned and squeezed out the excess water, I and let my hair dry for about 5-10 minutes while I got dressed. Next, I applied the Leave-In Condish all over [& rather generously] from root to tip, and then finished off with the star of the show, the Multi Cultural Curls. When applying this product I focused more on the mid-shaft, avoiding the root area. When I apply my products I do not section my hair, I make sure I have coated the areas on my head that I need to. Also, by applying the styler to only the mid-shaft I am am able to get a greater amount of volume than if I were to apply the product from root to tip.

And here are my results...

d e f i n i t i o n & v o l u m e galore!

makeup moment | feb

i've been playing with makeup a lot lately, so i thought i would share a few of my favorites of the moment with you:

eyebrows

Anastasia Brow Wiz
Okay, I know I'm not the only girl who has tried an infinite number of eyebrow pencils, powders, and waxes. Pencils tend to leave my brows looking like a caricature drawing's. Wax doesn't seem to leave me with the right tint & still leaves my brows with some sparse areas. Eyeshadows and powders just do n o t last all day! I purchased the Brow Wiz pencil in the color Ebony about a month ago and i absolutely love it! Brow Wiz is a twist up, fine point pencil which leaves the brows looking natural yet defined. The other end of the pencil has a spool to brush out the harsh lines as well!

lashes

L'OrĂ©al Voluminous Power Volume 24H Mascara

Having naturally dark, full, long & curly lashes I'm always being told that I don't need to wear mascara. Well, honey, nobody NEEDS to wear any kind of makeup! I wear it because I want to; I love bold lashes, and here's my secret to enhancing my natural lashes (though I'm always trying new mascaras). This formula is collagen infused, and the color I purchased is Black Smoke, which has a matte finish. I thought the finish would be more obvious, but I truly can't tell the difference between the matte and normal finishes. Nonetheless, my lashes are left with a spidery effect that lasts all day or all night ;).

smooches

MAC Dangerous

As a lover of all bright & bold pink and red lipsticks , I've shied away from orange- toned lipsticks for the simple fact that I have never been a fan of the color orange. However, I have been seeing red-orange makeup, lips and blushes, everywhere recently for Spring '14! This hue is by far more up my alley, and in my opinion is a lot more wearable than flat orange! With a neutral eye and a golden/bronzy cheek This MAC retro matte lipstick, is my go-to lip color right now; the finish complements the pigment perfectly!
